There is an over abundance of dive sites in Broward County,
Florida. An aggressive diver could plan on diving three to four tanks per day for a
period exceeding two weeks and never worry about visiting the same dive site twice.
Some of the most beautiful natural reef structure is only minutes
from the Hillsboro Inlet. Not to mention one of the largest Artificial Reef
Programs in the world, (definitely one of the most aggressive Artificial Reef Programs
around). Broward County has contributed at least one artificial reef per year for at
least the past twelve years. It is quite common during any festive occasion
throughout Broward County to watch the sinking of a vessel as one of the main highlights
of the festivities. These reefs present various stages of growth, both in coral and
marine life, for all to enjoy.
A few
popular sites within 20 minutes boat ride from the Hillsboro Inlet are listed on this map.
